Ministry of Health supports Sail Banda through a social activity (baksos), which is scheduled to take place on 12 July to 3 August 2010 in Maluku Province. Health Baksos Baskara Jaya Surya is a cooperation between the TNI-AL and Ministry of Health in providing health services to residents in the small islands, and remote outer covering 10 locations in the 5th District.

Social Operation Jaya Surya Baskara main activity is health care and counselling. In Banda Sail Baksos also involve some sectors even a few neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, Australia, supported by the U.S. Navy, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

Its plan, dated July 4, 2010 Minister of Health Dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH, Dr. PH will be releasing the departure of KRI Suharso ship in Kolinlamil Suharso KRI Tanjung Priok. The ship was carrying means of transportation, medical equipment and medicines to be used in health social work in addition to other baksos contact materials.

Ministry of Health’s support in Banda Sail baksos activities were an ambulance transport unit, three units of mobile health center (Pusling) 4 Wheels for North Maluku, a unit of  4 wheel mobile health center for Maluku, five sets of individual emergency units, two sets of emergency teams, two defibrillator units, two lamp examination units, five units of the minor surgery, and two ventilators from Makassar Regional PPK.

Other assistance in the form of emergency assistance, delivery of expert doctors and skilled nurses, emergency simulation, the socialization of health problems, vector surveys and outreach activities of communicable disease control and environmental sanitation, community empowerment (alert village), health services in disadvantaged areas, border and island areas ( DTPK) in the area of Maluku, West Maluku Tenggara, Southwest Maluku, Aru, West Seram, and South Buru, and others.

In addition, Ministry of Health also providing 10 tonnes of supplementary food breast milk (MP-ASI), 1900 kg of drugs of basic services, 200 TB drugs, malaria drugs 500, 200 mosquito nets, and 40 timer sound fruit.

In addition to ship KRI Suharso as a place of health services, USNS Mercy ship of America also held in the province of North Maluku baksos associated with Pacific Partnership 2010. Health services in areas that can not be passed by both the ships as in South Buru, West Seram, Aru, Southeast Maluku, West and Southwest Maluku will be carried out by mobile teams and Government assistance Ministry of Health Social Assistance Program and the Remote Area Border Islands (DTPK) in 2010.

In this baksos also made strengthening community empowerment, rehabilitation of public facilities, education / training, and social assistance. Health services provided include general service with the pattern of family planning services, health, nutrition among other nutritional health care babies, toddlers and pregnant women, delivery assitance, and communicable disease services. Specialistic health services / operations such as cataract surgery, cleft lip operation, and mass circumcision.

Sail Banda top event will be held on August 3, 2010 which will be inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and will continue until the Day of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia number 55 on the island of rotation, the outer islands of Southwest Maluku district, Maluku Province.
