WHA second day of trial (5/18/2010) Health Minister dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH, Dr. PH chaired the meeting the Foreign Policy and Global Health (FPGH) which consists of seven countries namely Indonesia, Norway, Thailand, France, Senegal, Brazil and South Africa finally agreed to issue a joint Communicate in Geneva, Switzerland. FPGH established on the basis of growing awareness about the correlation between health and foreign policy.
Minister Endang then perform a bilateral meeting with Minister of State of Health of Saudi Arabia, followed by a meeting with the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), accompanied by Prof. Tjandra Yoga Aditama (Director General of Disease Control & Environmental Health) and Dra. Sosialine partner Magdalene (Director of Community and Clinic). The FCTC is the first treaty negotiated under WHO assistance. This was adopted from the World Healh Assembly in 2003 and is the most wide spread agreement in the UN history, which until now have been followed by 168 countries.
Furthermore, Minister of Health held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health, Timor Leste, Madalena Fernandes Hanjan discussing cooperation in the fields of health workers, referral and quarantine issues across borders. P2PL DG will follow this plan of quarantine meeting in Bali in June or July.
Minister of Health’s next agenda is participating in meetings of Non Alignment Movement (NAM) or the Non-Aligned Movement in the health sector, followed a bilateral meeting with Sudanese Minister of Health and meetings with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and malaria (GFATM), which among others will request a meeting with President of the GFATM RI and the possible signing of GFATM Round 9 between Kazatskin GFATM with Prof. Prof. Tjandra Y Aditama in the field of HIV / AIDS in the near future that will be witnessed by the Minister of Health, RI.
