On May 9, 2010, Minister of Health, dr.Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH Dr.PH, opened monument of Young Marshall, Prof. DR. Abdulrachman Saleh in yard of University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Medicine. Minister gave a high appreciation for the effort to presents Prof. Dr. Abdulrachman Saleh’s monument. Beforehand, Prof. Dr. Abdulrachman Saleh’s monument in March 2010 has been missing from it location in Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Salemba. By efforts done, Abdulrachman Saleh’s monument can be realized and re-made as the original. It is not separated from the role and contribution of various parties.
Minister of Health in front of University of Indonesia’ students asked to recall Prof. Dr. Abdulrachman Saleh who was born on July 1, 1909 as Indonesia national hero, a founder of Republic of Indonesia’ Radio by motto “once on the air, remains on the air”, and also Father on Indonesia Physiology
After obtaining doctor’s certificate, Prof. DR. Abdulrachman Saleh deepens and develop Physiology in Indonesia, so that until December 5, 1959, University determined Prof. Dr. Abdulrachman Saleh as a father of Indonesia Physiology. Besides that, he also active in fly sport association and succeed in getting fly permitting certification.
Minister of health also added that spirit that need to be in samples for the next generation is spirit of devotion to the nation and country, without knowing the limits of time, selfless and tirelessly.
Minister of Health, hoping that alumnus of Faculty of Medicine to emulate Prof. DR. Abdul Rachman Saleh by working in a professional and oriented to the satisfaction of patients and protect patient safety based on the mandate of Act No.29 of 2004 on the Practice of Medicine, and Law No. 44 Year 2009 regarding the Hospital. Minister of Health ordered that this monument may be preserved and properly maintained, as a monument containing the precious historical value and needs to be preserved for future generations.
