Today, May 7, Minister of Health dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH, Dr. PH opened “Kencana Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital” Wing Private in Jakarta. This Wing Private is a pavilion that gave world class, whether in quality and quantity.

In that chance, Minister of Health accompanied by Main Director of Public General Hospital of Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Prof. Akmal Taher, Supervision Council of Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Public general Hospital, Jakarta and dean of Medical Faculty of University of Indonesia had a chance to visit some rooms such as Emergency Room, inpatient room, and some other Care room. This building planned to be operated on Monday, May 10, 2010.

In her speech, Minister said that the existing of this pavilion to anticipate a challenge of health care quality that is world class hospital health care. The aim is to improve a competitive of Indonesia health care in Southeast Asia area or the world, to decrease Indonesia people’s consumption abroad rate in seeking for health care, and to improve health personnel professionalism in Indonesia.

According to Minister, based on data of National Health Care Group International Business Dev Unit (NHG-IBDU) Singapore, 50% International patient who were get treatment in Singapore were Indonesian. It was recorded that number of patient from Indonesia to get treatment in Malaysia was 12.000 people/year. Lots of treatment visits to abroad surely will decrease state foreign exchange that supposed to be avoided if domestic health care is able to meet Indonesian people expectation.

“Indonesia Hospital has to start to make improvement by increasing service quality in order to fit with international standardization”, Minister emphasized.
It is added that, at this time there is world class Indonesia Hospital policy which has applied world class standardization that has been fit to hospital condition in Indonesia. Minister hoped that  Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Public General Hospital can be a referred Hospital and also Educational Hospital in Indonesia and World Class Hospital.

“Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Public General Hospital in the future has to be a renewal pioneer in medical care, education and research. Every time Hospital has to do self assessment and improving work ethic and pay attention to patient safety as written in Regulation No. 44 Year 2009 about Hospital,” said Minister.

“By the establishment of RSCM wing private, it is hoped that it can filled people’s need and prima, effective, and efficient health Care,” said minister.
Minister warned that the influencing of globalization, trading liberalization, and public Care trough General Agreement on Trade in Care (GATTS) commitment and the starting of ASEAN free market in 2003 and Asia Pacific free market in 2020 will more influencing various aspect of health service implementing especially hospital Care.

Hospital challenge in facing health service globalization is there plenty of Indonesian patient who got treatment in abroad; insurance and health care provider have not give a competitive service, and health service quality in Indonesia still assumed not internationally standardization.

Whereas, RSCM Director, Prof. Akmah Thaher said that eventhough this hospital gave world class care, but it does not mean it luxurious and expensive. But it more prioritized the comfortable and safety.

Prof. Akmal Taher added that RSCM provided some health Care cluster to private wing, it including health examination, stem cells maturation outside body, tumor handling, cancer clinic, esthetic Care, rehabilitative, teeth health, eye care center, and neuroscience.

“Service in all cluster were done integrated by team, and there was no separated Service,” she said.

Service quality in those units has an admitting from the pointed institutions. Some units in those hospitals have got ISO 9001 certificate from ISO certification institutions, Prof. Akmal added.

In that chance, 3 units of RSCM Care got ISO 9001 certificate 2008 version that is Care Unit of Integrated In patient in a building, CARDIAC care Unit, and Perinatology Unit. Beforehand, Radiotherapy Care Unit also got ISO certificate.

Kencana RSCM stands up above 2 hectares land. The building consist of 7 floor, which are 1st ,2nd , and 3rd floor are Cluster polyclinic, and 4th, 5th, and 6th floor for inpatient room.
