During February until April 2010 there are two additions of avian influenza positive case (H5N1). The first case, HA (F, 45 years old), a housewife from Malang. Case found through routine examination of sentinel surveillance of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) in health center in that city.

Patient came to Health Center on February 23, 2010 with ILI complaints. Because Health Center is the center of ILI sentinel data collection, so directly there was throat and nose specimen swab taking. Laboratory examination result showed specimen of H5N1 positive patient. At this time patient is healthy.

The second case, JE (F, 4 years old, and 8 months) from Pekan Baru, stated avian influenza positive based on laboratory examination on April 28, 2010. JE has a fever and taken to get treatment to hospital on April 19, 2010.

During treatment in Arifin Ahmad Hospital isolation room, this patient rontgen result showed regression. Patient was treated maximally by the existing Procedure Standardization Operational and yet due to hard general condition, the patient died on April 28, 2010.
