Bilqis Anindya Passa (18 months old), underfive who had atresiabilier or the unformed of bile ducts, will conduct liver transplant in Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang, Central Java, in the middle of April 2010. Now, doctor team led by dr. Yulianto Suwardi, Sp. BA (K) is curing Bilqis Pneumonia and gains her weight. “ From medical technical aspect, doctor team and other Human Resource, equipment, facility and managerial of Dr. Kariadi Hospital are ready for conduct liver transplant to Bilqis”, said by kata dr. Endang R. Sedyaningsih, MPH, Dr. PH after meeting with doctor team and Director of Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang and see Bilqis and her mother’s condition, Saturday (March 13, 2010).
Liver Transplant Team of Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang at this time is still waiting for filling of some requirements for Bilqis to do surgery, such as gaining her weight until 9 kg (now Bilqis’ weight is 8.8 kg), a complete of giving basic immunization, MMR, and Pnemococe, and waiting for the dissolve of difficulties factor that is lung abnormalities (pneumonia), said Minister of Health. In that chance, Minister of Health give support and appreciation to team and management of Dr.Kariadi Public Goverment Hospital in preparing everything needed to preparation of Bilqis ‘ liver transplantation. According to Minister of health, Liver Transplant Team of Dr. Kariadi Hospital is the first team in Indonesia who was succeeds in conducting liver transplant. Dr. Kariadi Public Government Hospital ability in conducting liver transplantation in a year was 2-3 patients. Liver Transplant Team of Dr. Kariadi Hospital contains of a member of doctors from any specialization such as surgery, pediatrician, anesthesia specialist, radiology specialist, laboratory specialist, hematology specialist. This team is the first team in Indonesia which succeed in conducting liver transplantation. Before that, the team has conducted surgery to Ulung Harautama in 2006 and Muhammad Alfarizi successfully, said Minister of Health. According to Minister of Health, case rate of liver abnormalities which need liver transplantation in Indonesia was 1 per 10 thousands life birth. Whereas, the budget needed to do liver transplantation is so high, about 800 million – 1 trillion rupiahs. For Bilqis surgery, Minister of Health coordinated the budget which was from health insurance (jamkesmas), people support which was allocated to “Dompet Dhuafa”, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of some companies/enterprises. For the future, the same cases will be handled by Poverty Control Team under coordination by vice president with financed by APBN (State Cost Expenditure Budget) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) of some companies/enterprises, said Minister of Health.
Minister of Health said that movement of “ Love Coin for Bilqis” from community which were done to coordinated fund for Bilqis treatment need to be appreciated. Because it represent mutual corporation which owned by Indonesian people.
For long term, this such fund coordination will be held before someone got ill through health insurance for all people (universal coverage) just like written in UU No. 40 Year 2004 about National Social Insurance System with mutual coordination principal, that is those one health help the ill one and the rich one help the poor.
According to dr.yulianto, times needed to do liver transplantation surgery is 12 – 15 hours simultaneously for recipients or donors.
”Both of them should in health condition. At this time, the donors, that is Bilqis’ mother is ready. But Bilqis has lung abnormalities that should be cured. For lung abnormalities treatment need 14 days and after it cured, it need 14 days for medical rehabilitation”, said by dr. Yulianto.
