Indonesia suggests WHO to revise the parameter of pandemic status since it can bring serious consequence to a country (in this case, Mexico). Determining the status is not only based on the transmissibility (human-to-human transmission) but also clinical determinants (morbidity and mortality) and gene sequencing (high or low pathogenic). This suggestion is accepted as one clause in Joint Ministerial Statement ASEAN +3 Ministers Special Meeting on Influenza A H1N1 at Bangkok Thailand on 7-8 May 2009. This was mentioned by Minister of Health Dr.dr.Siti Fadilah Supari, Sp.JP(K ) to media at press conference after her arrival from ASEAN +3 Health Ministers Meeting (China, Japan and Korea) at 9 May 2009. Indonesian delegation, which is lead by Minister of Health Dr.dr.Siti Fadilah Supari, consists of Director General of DC & EH, Prof. dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama, Director of National Board of Health Development and Research, Prof. dr. Agus Puwadianto SH and Special Staff on Public Health, dr. Wijaya Lukito, Ph.D. In this Joint Ministerial Statement, Indonesia reminds that although the world is facing outbreak influenza A H1N1 outbreak, ASEAN + 3 will keep the Indonesia's struggle on virus sharing and benefit sharing in WHO (IGM-PIP) which will be included at WHA next week, said dr. Siti Fadilah Supari. Indonesia has held comprehensively pandemic preparedness plan and full scale simulation of preparedness toward pandemic twice, at Jembrana Bali on April 2008 and at Makassar South Sulawesi on April 2009. This meeting was attended by all ASEAN + 3 member states (Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippine, Singapore, Viet Nam), China, Japan and Korea. 1. It is a high political commitment for ASEAN + 3 Members State solidarity in responding outbreak threat of the new influenza A H1N1. They all agree to increase preparedness in their own country to respond influenza A H1N1. 2. Member states agree that the outbreak now has not been in pandemic status 6. This pandemic is clinically slight, but the awareness and preparedness must be kept on. 3. Joint Ministerial Statement has also decided: 1. Keeping on Pandemic Preparedness Plan in every countries 2. Increasing public communication effectivity 3. Considering system in ASEAN + 3 to facilitate availability of essensial supply in emergency Related to questions about 3 suspected cases of H1N1, Minister of Health asserted that because of the preparedness of Indonesia those 3 suspected cases can be detected through thermal scanner in International Airport . Those 3 suspected cases are S (30 years, f), Indonesian worker from East Java, which come from Taiw�n. Her Litbangkes laboratory test results negative; J (53 years, m), a foreigner, and since 5 May 2009 has been hospitalized in Sulianti Saroso Infection Hospital . His condition is getting better and can be discharged from hospital. The laboratory test results negative of H1N1; L (30 years, m), a journalist who was covering ADB Meeting in Bali .
