Immunization program is an integral part of health care system in a country. This program can be accessed, affordable and accountable if a health care system had an integrated access.
That was said by Minister of Health, dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH, Dr. PH when opening the 3rd Asian Vaccine Conference (ASVAC 3) which has theme “Accessibility, Affordability, and Accountability “ in Jakarta (28/07). This event was attended by DG of Disease Control and Environmental Health, Prof. dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama, Sp.P(K), MARS, DTM&H, DTCE; The leader of Indonesia Association of Pediatricians, dr. Badriul Hegar; Ketua Asian Strategic Alliance for Pneumococcal Disease Prevention (ASAP), Professor Lulu S. Bravo; a representative of World Health Organization (WHO) for Indonesia, Dr. Kanchit Limpakarnjanarat; the committee leader of ASVAC 3, Prof. DR. dr. Sri Rezeki S. Hadinegoro, SpA(K); and a representative from Philippine Foundation for Vaccination (PFV), International Society of Tropical Pediatrics (ITSP), and the Asian Society for Pediatric Infectious Disease (ASPID). According to Minister of Health, Immunization program in Indonesia has a long history and has achieved many succeed for the last four decades. This is proved by the missing out of tetanus neonatal and maternal rate in some provinces in 2010. “We had been faced an obstacle of 100% Universal Child Immunization Village achievement in 2014, said Minister. Many efforts had been done by Minister to answer that obstacle as the following : launch a National Immunization Campaign by : strengthen immunization area observation; mobilize resource in local level, doing outreach activity of remote area accessibility; and improving support from community leader towards immunization, said Minister. |
